So you may be wondering how this idea came about. In the midst of a slow economy, charitable organizations always seem to have a hard time raising money. The disastrous events that took place on September 11th brought Americans together in a way never seen before. The American people opened their pocket books and donated money at record highs to organizations involved in the relief effort. Although these donations were much needed, local charitable organizations around the nation began suffering from a lack of funding and an inability to raise new money.
They decided to create a method of generating donations from an untapped source of funding that could be given to these local charities to help out in this time of need. They not only want to help out now, but the Buy for Charity staff hopes to produce a continuous stream of “found money” for these organizations in the years to come.

1. Become a Member
It’s free. It will take less than a minute to sign up. During the registration process, you will be asked to select your favorite cause (Project Read).
2. Start Shopping
Once you are a Buy for Charity member, you are able to start shopping right away. You can click on one of the featured merchants, specials or the shop by store or category pages to begin shopping.
3. That’s All
That’s all there is to it. Just shop for the products or services you want and your cause will receive the indicated donation.
